What a wonderful find!! A quilting shop about 5 miles from where we live..My daughter took me here a couple weeks ago, Of course even though I have been several time since I have yet to see the entire shop! Already have asked Santa for a bit early Christmas present..Soon they will starting a new beginners learn to quilt class! I want to take it for sure. and I have been a good girl this year..Though Santa says Good is Good, But ... Bad is better...:)

All classes are held at the store intheir 3,500sq ft Classroom. Hope I don't get lost :)
I really love their fabrics, They have my favorite section of Repro Civil War era.. Gosh Golly can you imagine owning your very own quilting shop..Just think of all the awesome dolls one could create whoa! Their prices are not to bad. Because it is such awesome qualityFor some of my creations this is a real treat to just run up to the store and pick out and buy.Sure beats eBay!! Waiting for it to arrive in the mail box.

Any ways here is a bit of info about the shop for any one who is interested:

Have to brag!!

This is a picture of my daughter very first quiltshe has ever made... Its for a king size bed!For Christmas last year her Dad and I bought a cheap Brothers sewing machine..She had be saying she wished she knew how to quilt..

So we bought the cheapest sewing machine we could find.. Because this girl has always hated sewing and any thing to do with it..

I just could not imagine HER quilting let alone sit down to a sewing machine.

I felt putting out big bucks for a good sewing machine would have been useless

I must say for Christmas last year I had a blast buying for her..

I bought Quilting

Books

Magazines

Kits

Templates

Thread

needles

Fabrics

I do not know how to quilt so the first book I bought her I just followed the first page

it gave what you needed to quilt with..

I REALLY didn't expect her to actually sew let alone quilt..

Like I said before the cheap machine really gave her a real fit too.I knew when I heard it and saw the stitches ect..That it should have been taken back to the store....

But Valerie kept saying "No Mom..Its probably just me" But when she saw how nice my sewing machine sewed ..She knew it wasn't her..Thats why she bought a new machine..And her sewing is perfect...

Valerie has just blown me away!!! WELL the sewing machine really was a piece junk ,In August Valerie bought her self a singer..Really nice machine not really fancy but it is SO much easier to use and it does perfect stitching.. Valerie just took off with it so encouraged by a sewing machine that didn't screw up and mess up her fabric..She MADE this huge quilt all by herself!!!She has to add the borders she plans diffidently to hand quilt it too..The fabric is goregous.. The tan color triangles have a real sparkle to them.

Here is the back side of the Quilt..she chose a fabric from the quilt..

Its black with tiny burgandy flowers...

Don't mean to go on..But I'm just sooo proud!!!

isn't this quilt just beautiful!! I need a break from doll making, I like so many others love quilts,I have a quilt on our bed , and sit some times looking at the tiny stitches all done by hand,Well today I did a bit of surfing the web looking for a free simple , I do mean simple 9 patch quilt pattern, I can not tell you how many hundreds of FREE quilting patterns out on the web..The above picture is a free quilt pattern, I will look in my notes and give you the url..Then I started reading..UGH! I do not want to do what ever paper piecing is...I feel a simple 9 patch quilt is plenty for me to start out with, I do not know what fusible stuff is..or how to use..I thought I could just sit down cut out squares and make a small maybe a doll quilt to start out on..OR even what they call a "Block" I think I must have looked way to long at all the quilts and patterns.... ..cause now I am confused and disapointed..Why can't I use scissors instead of a rotator have one a brand new one never used..Because I do not know how to use it...So many questions and no one to ask...I am confused and disapointed.. and frustrated! Will I give up NOPE! Hope some of you quilters out there can give me a helping hand..I so much want to learn quilting..nothing huge just lap quilt, throw, a wall hanging...I'd love nothing more than to be able to make my daughter and daughter in-law a small wrap up in quilt for Christmas! Sherrie who is not giving up!:)
