How can Hobbies help with your health

I had my thryroid out, I asked the doctors and nurses if doing so if it would cause anxiety/panic attacks I quote " It shouldn't or I have never heard of that

"Well now that sugery is over and Thank God and I do mean Thank God it was not cancer.

now am waiting for the doctors to get the synthroid levels to be normal..This is the that part is roughI have been having anxiety, just feeling like my body is all mixed up *Oh Yuck*

So I did a bit of reserch on thyroidectomy, and guess what yeppers andI qoute: after effects of a thyroidectomy and the most common are depression, mood swings, weakness, tiredness, body aches, etc. One person said it was like a bad case of PMS

So I am praying and believing God will heal me and bring my levels back into balance...Didn't say it was easy.:)

I DO have so much to be Thankful for to God!!.

Report of no cancer !!! God is awesome and he sure does answer prayer!!

My Family who is standing with me and Loving me

My husband has been totally awsome and loving, cooking food, cleaning the house, holding me when I cry , He is as close to a Angel on earth as you can get I Love him!

I said all this to share how important Hobbies are whether your a Artist, Crafter, as long as you create! I said all this to share how important Hobbies are whether your a Artist, Crafter, as long

as you create! Creating is the answer for helping our minds, our bodys, and so much more,

I hope I can help even if it is just one person..

Again I goggled Hobbies /Health and the best of many wonderful articles is:

Having hobbies can help you keep busy so you are not overeating, they can lower your blood pressure, provide a release from stress, and keep your mind and body active.Want to stay physically and mentally active as you get on in years? Need to find some relief from the stress of everyday life? Looking for a way to “get away from it all” by doing something you feel passionate about? Then what are you waiting for – get a hobby! The truth is having a hobby gives you something to get excited about, something to do that sparks your interest and makes you feel good about yourself.Hobbies not only reduce stress, they keep you mentally alert ,

ABC NEWShttp://abcnews.go.com/Health/story?id=118258&page=3
"Participating in leisure activities contributes to your physical and mental health and overall life satisfaction. You're healthier, happier and more cheerful. You enjoy life more,

So for right now I went back to basics of my Hobbie!
I found my original very first Primitive Doll Pattern I bought in 1997!!
Just keeping busy and creating even though this a a very basic prim,at least I am creating, Have the fabric already aged and ready to make their clothes, as I sat back and looked as funny as they look it made me feel so proud, It is my goal to actually create the whole pattern which includes a piloow also!It isn't that the dolls are any thing to any one ,but they mean allot to me .because I am creating see what I mean..it does make you feel sooooo much better!!!!

Alrighty THEN OHMY GOSH!!! I cleaned 3/4 of my sewing room..This is what hobbies do for you they engerizie your "I don't wanna "to Yeppers lets organize so we can keep creating!!! TaDa!! well add finished doll pictures too:)So I do the good ole house tidey up each day, I made out a to do list and try to do one thing each day on the list, Teh head for the sewing room with my Angel as she is always right beside and count my blessings and create!!

I too recently discovered Prims. I had a partial thyroidectomy almost twenty years ago. Once again I am having to adjust my thyroid medicine.
Hobbies are indeed the best therapy.

Sherrie

I had my thyroid out last summer, and once my synthroid was adjusted I felt soooooo much better. Didn't realize how bad I really was before. If your Doc put you on Vit D DON'T take it at the same time. I found this out the hard way when I was feeling so tired and run down a month after the surgery.

I was sorry to hear about your sister, I will keep you in my thoughts both on your lose and your own health.
