Prairie doll in the making..I LOVE Prairie dolls

as I create them in my minds eye I do step back in time..When the west was wild and and not

crowed when times were hard yet so simple.These dolls represent those times..Created along the wagon wheels and very uncomfortable long rides across our great land.. Mothers gather what ever was at hand to create a life time friend for their daughters.

there is no rhyme nor reason for creating this doll .NO dead line to meet..Just the best and funnest side of doll making,,Just the want to! Sitting down with pencil and paper and start sketching out whats in my heart...

This doll for some reason has been wanting to come to life through my heart and fingers..

I wanted to show and share her going through her growth steps..

Practing Practing on creating softer faces yet not loosing the yesteryear effect..

I used water color pencils for her facial features and blush for her cheecks so far..I now will

rub her down achieving even more of a softer face and making her look vintage.

Antique Ivory Victorian Cottage Style Shadow Box

I totally LOVE how perfectly this box crackled for me

Here is a close up picture of the Antique Ivory Victorian Cottage Style Shadow Box,
It is 3-dimensional and totally hand created... Lots of Faux Glitter and snow.
It is hard for me to take a picture with the top of the shadow boxed closed, I kept getting glass reflections.. Does any one have any idea's how to take a good picture with no reflections??

Shadow Box is solid wood, measurements are 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 and 1 1/2 inches deep
I took and smoothed the wood to a new baby's bottom smoothness.

Hand painted first layer in Poetry Green, After drying I then applied my crackle..

after drying once again applied Antique Cream over the crackle

I totally LOVE how perfectly this box crackled .
I just love how this sweet Antique Ivory Victorian Cottage Style Shadow Box has turned out. It is 3-dimensional and totally hand created... Lots of Vintage Paper, Vintage Photos printed on cloth. Artists Pencils, Faux Glitter and Snow and so much more .

Here is a picture I feel in love with years ago, I bought it at JoaAnn's SO simple yet so Whimsical, Living in Florida many a hot summer days I will stare at this picture as it hangs right above my sewing table..

Why:
1 st: Will First he always makes me smile

2 nd: He makes me feel cool

3 rd: I adore the colors
4 th: he makes see him through the eyes of a child,

5 th : I also become very creative and new inspirations

That alone is cool and refreshing, Mentally, Spiritually, and even Physically. Thinking as child is good thing for * relaxing * your body and your mind..

Think about it *Big Smile* as a child did you have knots in your neck :)~

I wanted to create a Whimsical Cottage Style Shadow Box , That makes every one feel the same way as the Folk Art Whimsy picture does..

Here in the beginnings Whimsical Cottage Style Shadow Box,is solid wood, measurements are 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 and 1 1/2 inches deep...I took and smoothed the wood to feel like a apple in smoothness...

Paintings...using Antique Cream Drying... applying Aquamarine ..Drying... Then distressing giving such a nice patina of age to the Whimsical Cottage Style Shadow Box... It is 3-dimensional and totally hand created... Lots of Vintage fabric, Vintage Photos from 1950's cards.. Artists Pencils, Faux Glitter and Snow and so much more . Using real Czech Glass beads on the tress adds whimsy sparkle. Sealant has been applied to protect the..Whimsical Cottage Style Shadow Box

Family of Six in the making!

I decided to make a family.Yeppers, Daddy, MaMa and their four chidren..They will be dressed

for the holidays each one..Now I know this is playing dolls, Some thing I have never done in my whole life..Also I'm working on a offering special for The Humbles Arts!

Daddy here he has Green eyes, But I have decided to also re-do his face completely

MaMa sitting next to him, is before I re-did her face.. Here I re-did Mama's face..I'm trying to learn how to soften and shadow.. Still not right but it is better. *MaMa diffently will get a pretty smile*My sweet hubby just told me he liked MaMa's face before I re-did her..Thats cool.*Smack* He said it looked more defined..

I really need a second and even third person to help critique my stuff:)
