Pilgrims Finished

Because I said I would share a finished picture of my Pilgrims, Is the only reason I am sharing one, I have never worked so very hard on any dolls, The directions of the pattern just absolutely made no sense , I worked 2 full days trying and re-trying to make their collars, and her Bonnet,  and 4 days trying to make the Man Pilgrim shirt, again the directions were just not making any sense! I finally gave up and just made the shirt my way.

The pattern  designer is totally awesome and so very talented and is like #1 in the primitive Folk Art world, With her patterns and creations !.  This pattern was one of her first, Maybe I should have just emailed her, She is such a sweet gal, she provably could have helped me.

I know I am by far not the best best doll maker, But I have to say I feel my abilities are better than how these turned out.

I am SO unhappy with them, When all is said n done I will tear them apart make fatter legs, save their head and arms and body’s, make another  doll. some thing  different with them,
I worked so hard on their clothes will save them ,but embellish them on a new doll with them.
but at least they are done , since 2009 wow! My challenge to my self I can check one more off my DIP list! (DIP=Dolls In Progress)
I don’t think I have ever been so disappointed in a doll, let alone two of them,

Yeppers I am still here!

Gosh I just don't know where the month of October has gone, Here it is nearly gone, October is my favorite month, Even with warm weather, I just love October the best of all the months !

I am trying to catch up with a couple Fall items, I first did a major, deep cleaning and down sizing of my sewing room ,I do mean big time :)

I am now sharing in progress pictures for "THANKSGIVING", The man and woman pilgrims I am creating  have got their faces. All their clothes are finished and ready to dress them with,

Today I plan on add their hair and Hats and Bonnets! I used a pattern by Sweet Meadows Farm from are you ready pattern date is  2003!   Yeppers I have been challenging my self to finish dolls I have started but not finished, I have TWO totes full of them,

This is how I challenge my self:
What I do is Create fresh and new  , Then challenge my self by picking up one of my DIP
(Dolls In Progress) and finish them .Then start again with a new creation. Doing this back and forth  until all my DIP are finished :)

But also I am making Christmas items now, Just started, But will not complete them until my Pilgrims are finished! Finished pictures will follow!

Here are my Pilgrims pretty clothes, Pantaloons,Apron, Bonnet, Two Collars, Man Pants and Shirt, His Hat, They will be just adorable ! Thanksgiving as a kid was my favorite holiday, Now it seems  the stores  just over look the Thanksgiving Holiday. That is sad.

I and all my family will always celebrate Thanksgiving! It will never be forgotten!
I have great plans  for creations for next years Thanksgiving, One is a cool beautiful Turkey !
I also plan ans I have written down my idea's is also have  some really cool pumpkins that meant for Thanksgiving!

I have given also much thought  for my Blog,Even though blogging may not be as popular as it once was ,Face Book seems the newest way to go, But..For me I have such a love and joy for my blog and many others that have blogs.... So I plan to continue!  I have been so blessed to have made very special friends, that I  have met along the way and over the years, To me that is just to special  to give up.

Blog to me is so much more personal in many ways and seems the  special friends you make are so much closer to the heart than a Face Book page, Even though I do have a face book page, it will never take the place of  my blog and my blog friends :)

Every One have a very special day, Hopefully by Saturday I will have my finished Pilgrims picture up to share.. Love N Hugs Sherrie
