I am ALWAYS looking for faces.I fine the real vintage to be my favorite.
I love their techniques from simple to their deep shadings .
Wood is one of the earliest known materials used to make dolls.
dating back as far as the 1500's. Certainly have held up beautifull through the centuries
When I saw this picture of this doll my thought was why not cloth!

I have this pattern ..I haven't attempted to create it yet..But I just love the pattern and how it really looks just like a wood doll when finished , it is just amazing!

Sherrie, is the doll stiff also like a wood doll? Would she have used different materials, stuffed it tight, or starched it? Just curious, b/c it really does look like wood from the picture. Blessings, Janet

You will love making the Claire Pruitt Penny Doll! The orange hair doll in the heading of my blog is one made from that pattern! She tied for third place in the FOCD yahoo group contest and was recently pictured in the Soft Dolls and Animals November issue, along with all the other winners of the "Penny Doll Challenge" !
