"Munchkin Of Spring"

This is "Munchkin Of Spring" My very first softie,

He has his arms full of spring colors and ready to plant away..Munchkin Of Spring is for my swap partner Fluxx her Flickr is http://www.flickr.com/photos/lilitupili/
and she lives in Germany. !!!

I am nervous about this swap because I don't know Fluxx or her fav colors ect.... I have never made a softie before and really don't know how big or small they should be,I do know they are not to be exact or precise..Neither words just cut loose and be wild let your creative juices flow.

Munchkin is 7 1/2 inches from the very tip point of his start head to bottom of his leggs
He is 4 1/2 inches wide
He is my own design..I did not gesso the face first nor did I use muslin which I am sooo use to using, This fabric was a bit on the sickly side which made it hard for me to draw on..

I wanted him to be soft all over..I made his body from fannel and he isn't stuffed hard just so nice and soft.

I have to stop and ask my self..Is this blog thing a really good idea..
Gosh It's really really hard for me to share my stuff,I always see all the flaws
But I have to say I will be making more Softies ..Especially as I loosen up..

Fluxx likes my doll I made call "Wish" as a added surprise I am sending Wish along with Munchkin Of Spring Softie...

It always make ya feel so good when creating and giving and knowing
their going to a home who loves them

As we get the LivingRoom, DiningRoom, Hall Ways cleaned and all back together I will post ~TADA~~!!! Pictures *Whew*!!

This has a good point!

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life.
Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups-- porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain, some expensive, some exquisite--telling them to help themselves to the coffee.
When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice-looking, expensive cups were taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.
While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. Be assured that the cup itself adds no q uality to the coffee.
In most cases, it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink.
What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups . . .and then you began eyeing each other's cups.
Now consider this: Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, and the type of cup we have does not define nor change the quality of Life we live. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup,
we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us." God brews the coffee, not the cups . . .. Enjoy your coffee! (Then the part I like best). . The happiest people don't HAVE the best of everything. They just MAKE the best of everything they have.

Up to my eye balls in Dust Whew!

Just sticking my head in while I can..Monday they started laying our new tile floor..what they didn't tell us before they started ..they use a sander on the cement floor and covers EVERY THING in the house pure white in cement dust, even the rooms that had the doors shut..
I have been staying out of the house the last two days while they shuffle the furniture and again this morning the sanded the dining room cement floor, I just sat down and cried..what a nasty mess.Tomorrow they will start the "grout" and they said they should finish with that by tomorrow..I really don't know what to say if I like the tile or not, because of all the nasty mess I will have to clean up.even the walls and ceiling fixtures, Pictures on the walls ect... through the entire house..I was just prepared for all the gritty dust. I wish they had told us..I would have store our furniture and every thing would have been packed up.. All the people told us to do was strip the floors which we did, and move the furniture out of the living room and the would move the dining room furniture ect as they needed..we have never had this done before..
I am so mad right now I told my husband I would never go through this again, Not with a house full of furniture.maybe if we were building a home..I will be off line probably for a week do to all the cleaning we will have to do, even steam clean the furniture..I will try to get online during the evening..

Love to all Sherrie

Teacher, Susanna Oroyan, who has given so much to the doll world with her wonderful books and knowledge on the art of dollmaking:Susie is in Sacred Heart Hospital with an extreme reaction to chemo and radiation, she is heavily sedated while they are trying to stablize her. Her family has asked that we send cards. No phone calls or visitors.

Softies

Tonight I was soon dunno had kinda mixed up feelings,Today we went to my sister in-laws 50th Anniversary, (Note: my hubby has 3 sisters and their all older than he is, hey all could be his Mom, But Gosh golly each one is sharp, beautiful and full of get up n go, You would never know their ages!! )There were at least 50 people there,Bunches of little ones,The oldest was 4yrs old! Youngest was 1 yr old..With one on the way. Such fun watching them all playing..Fun talking and catching up a bit well as much as one could that is on all that was and is and going to be.But funny thing is when we left I felt up set,Mixed feelings and worse of all I felt so unloved..werid as it sounds.I am beginning to feel better now, Maybe because I am writing about it?? I have NEVER ever written about my own personal feelings, Just kinda figure people have their own problems and sure don't need to read about mine.So any ways I got on my computer and happened to stumble across flickr and found these whimsical, fun, bright colors, thingies they call I guess Softiesoooh they made me smile and begin to get wonderful creative thoughts, so got out my good ole book by:Better Homes and Gardens called Old -Fashion Dolls and ToysSure enough there is a ADORABLE pattern to make what they have named "Calico Cat & Gingham Dog Softies pattern.

I have it all ready to sew and I will take a picture tomorrow and put up to share,But check out these links and have fun looking at the world of Softies
