Cherries On My Apron

Whew as you see I have now put gorgeous Cherries on my apron...I tried some thing new .A new technique for me..I found a picture of Vintage Cherries from the 1940's...
Then...
Cut out to size as my computer paper , and then using the same apron fabric ironed on to freezer paper and placed it in my printer and printed the design.. Then took Wonder Under and ironed this to my printed fabric..

Then cut the Cherry's out..Very delicately, I then ironed them on to my apron.
I really love the look..It has given the apron a Vintage / Retro look..I am now going to embellish the cherries by painting them and the leaves also..

I am going to remove the ric rac I have sewn on the pocket area , replace it with red ric rac.. and may be put a small cluster of leaves on the pockets..

Probably be Monday now before I can work on the apron or any thing..Having a 3 yr old come stay the week end with us..And loads of on the go fun to share with him, Hugs Sherrie

Wow Sherrie,

I love the cherries and the technique you used. I think the red rick rack will definitely look better with the red cherries too.

Hope you have loads of fun with the 3 year old.
